If you thought Tyler Perry's first night on Oprah's OWN network was good, his second night faired just as better. Tyler Perry's premiere of his new scripted series Love Thy Neighbor premiered last week with 1.65 million viewers making it the highest ever series debut on the network. The second episode of the new comedy brought in 1.8 million viewers.

The show chronicles the life of Hattie Mae who runs a diner with the help of her family. The show serves me a mixture of TBS's Mama's Family and OWN's Sweetie Pie's.

I couldn't really get into the show due to the constant annoyance of the laughing track and flat jokes. I will give it another shot next week.

Despite many negative reviews and a petition to stop it from airing, Tyler Perry's new scripted series The Have & The Have Nots delivered record ratings for the OWN Network this week. The 9 PM airing on Tuesday night drew in 1.77 million viewerss with the rerun at 10 PM drawing in 1.8 million viewers. The premiere of the show, which is OWN's first scripted drama, marks the networks highest ever series premiere throughout any of its shows.

I'm not quite sold on the show just yet. The filming for the series looks a tadbit cheap compared to that of his hit TBS hit series For Better or For Worse. The show was also a bit dry mocking that of many long running soap operas.

The show has received nothing but negative reviews with many blasting Oprah for bringing Tyler Perry's negative depiction of black people to her network.

The question remains on whether the series will continue to bring in good ratings following the premiere. Thoughts?

Did talk show queen Oprah Winfrey spill the tea tonight about the relationship between singer/actress Jennifer Hudson and her longtime boyfriend David Otunga? Oprah tweeted David tonight to tell him about the good job that Jen did performing for Sidney Poitier in the Bahamas to which she referred to her as his 'wife.'

So you guys were holding out on telling me that Iyanla Vanzant's 'Fix My Life' was still popping after the premiere episode with Evelyn Lozada? On the next episode of the OWN network series, Iyanla travels to Los Angeles to fix the life of a transgender man that is trying to mend his relationship with his family.

This will definitely be must see TV because so many LGBT individuals are dealing with family members that are too religious and will not accept their lifestyle.

 

Everyone assumes that Rihanna is Oprah Winfrey's new best friend ever since she sat down with the media queen for an exclusive interview. Oprah was asked about her thoughts on Rihanna rekindling her romance to singer Chris Brown during a taping for her Lifeclass series.

'No, I'm not surprised. I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and help him help himself then so be it. I have no judgment about it.' says Oprah.

I couldn't agree with Oprah anymore. We are all grown and why should we feel like we have the right to decide who someone should be with.

I guess media mogul Oprah Winfrey knew exactly what she was doing when she decided to give life coach Iyanla Vanzant her own series on the OWN Network. Iyanla Vanzant's 'Fix My Life' premiered over the weekend with reality star Evelyn Lozada as the guest. Part one of the two part episode aired Saturday night raking in 1.1 million viewers, while part two which aired Sunday night raked in 1.6 million viewers. Iyanla's new show marks the highest series debut for the OWN Network.

On another note, the season two premiere of 'Sweetie Pies' raked in its highest ratings for an episode with  over 900k viewers. Oprah's 'Next Chapter' interview with Oprah raked in 1.5 million viewers on Sunday night also.

I think it is safe to say that Mother O's new network is finally headed down a good path.

The OWN Network was definitely the channel to watch over the weekend. Part two of Evelyn Lozada's interview with Iyanla Vanzant on 'Fix My Life' aired last night. The second half was filmed after the altercation with Chad occurred. Evelyn admitted that there were signs that she should have followed that told her that the marriage wasn't going to work. Evelyn also talked about how her relationship with her own father may have played a part in her actions.

Should we forgive her for her nonsense on Basketball Wives? I'm not sure really how I feel about her at this point. I went into this interview hating her but have come away with other thoughts.

Singer Usher did not hold back last night with his interview with mogul Oprah Winfrey during her Next Chapter. Usher discussed his marriage with Tameka Foster, the nasty custody battle, and more. I must say that this interview really answered a lot of questions about Usher that I had been wondering about.

Surprisingly Usher revealed that he did indeed sleep with one of Tameka's bridesmaids but that it occurred after their marriage ended. He also revealed that he did cheat while the marriage was falling apart.

Oprah's OWN Network has been winning all weekend and tonight is no exception. The media mogul sits down with singer Usher Raymond to discuss his failed marriage, custody battle and more. I'm glad that Usher is finally giving us his side of the story instead of simply sitting around and letting the media spread lies.

Mother O never lets us down which is why I cannot wait to hear his response on whether or not he cheated on Tameka Foster during their marriage stint.

'I always felt like maybe we weren't ready and maybe this wasn't the time or the way to do it,' says Usher about his marriage to Foster.

I will admit that this interview was probably one of the best things that Evelyn Lozada has done this far to fix her image. The reality star sat down with Iyanla Vanzant for the premiere of 'Fix My Life'. Evelyn went to Iyanla seeking help with her life that has spiraled out of control over the past year.

Some parts of the interview were tapped prior to the altercation with Chad including the dinner scene where she sat down with his daughters to apologize for her actions. Surprisingly Evelyn said she didn't mean all of those nasty things that she said towards Jennifer during the last season of Basketball Wives.

'What scares me the most is being by myself,' says Evelyn. That statement alone explains why she would put up with infidelity and abuse.

When I tell you Mother O can pull an interview like no other. The media mogul has landed the first exclusive interview with singer Usher Raymond following his extremely difficult custody battle with his ex-wife Tameka Raymond. Usher apparently tells all in the interview which Oprah says he will do for the first and last time.

I am definitely going to be tuned into this interview. Usher talks about his infidelity during his marriage, why he wanted full custody, and more. I honestly hope Usher asks about the death of Tameka's child and why the case really went on versus being put on hold. I cannot wait for this interview.

Singer/Actress Jennifer Hudson looked absolutely fabulous last night on Oprah's Next Chapter. Jennifer sat down with Oprah to discuss her relationship, family murders, and more. I felt like Jennifer and David may have been telling a lie when they stated that they had chosen a wedding date.

Am I the only one that was shocked when Jennifer stated that she wasn't mad at her sis after her husband killed her mother, brother, and nephew?

Nonetheless, the interview was great. I hope Jennifer gives us a dance number on her next album to compliment her new shape.

I'm just curious on whether or not Jennifer has tried to influence her sister to get healthy and shed a few pounds.

I must say that Jennifer's body is really shaping out to look nice and to fit her. When her weight transformation first began her head looked very disproportionate to the rest of her body.

I'm so glad that Oprah finally got her hand on this interview. I honestly hope that Rihanna doesn't indulge too much on the Chris Brown situation however I would like to know where she is mentally with the situation.

In all honesty, would Rihanna be as big as she is had it not been for the Chris Brown incident? Some of you may say that she was big before then but the songs she had that blew up were written by him.
