  • If you thought Tyler Perry's first night on Oprah's OWN network was good, his second night faired just as better. Tyler Perry's premiere of his new scripted series Love Thy Neighbor premiered last week with 1.65 million viewers making it the highest ever series debut on the network. The second episode of the new comedy brought in 1.8 million viewers.

The show chronicles the life of Hattie Mae who runs a diner with the help of her family. The show serves me a mixture of TBS's Mama's Family and OWN's Sweetie Pie's.

I couldn't really get into the show due to the constant annoyance of the laughing track and flat jokes. I will give it another shot next week.

Check out a clip from the show below.

  • Despite many negative reviews and a petition to stop it from airing, Tyler Perry's new scripted series The Have & The Have Nots delivered record ratings for the OWN Network this week. The 9 PM airing on Tuesday night drew in 1.77 million viewerss with the rerun at 10 PM drawing in 1.8 million viewers. The premiere of the show, which is OWN's first scripted drama, marks the networks highest ever series premiere throughout any of its shows.

I'm not quite sold on the show just yet. The filming for the series looks a tadbit cheap compared to that of his hit TBS hit series For Better or For Worse. The show was also a bit dry mocking that of many long running soap operas.

The show has received nothing but negative reviews with many blasting Oprah for bringing Tyler Perry's negative depiction of black people to her network.

The question remains on whether the series will continue to bring in good ratings following the premiere. Thoughts?

Did you tune in? Let us know below.

  • Talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey made a return to daytime television this week by surprising morning show co-host Kelly & Michael during their interview with good friend Tyler Perry. Tyler stopped by to promote his new OWN television scripted series 'The Have & The Have-Nots' which premiered last night on Oprah's network.

It is no secret that Kelly is a huge fan of Oprah's even prompting Tyler to call her live on air during his last appearance on the show.

Tyler is also planning to bring his hit TBS show For Better or For Worse to the OWN Network later this year.

Did you tune into Tyler's new show?

  • Modeling Mogul Tyra Banks is determined to revamp her hit show Amercia’s Next Top Model before it starts failing. The former talk show host has tapped celebrities Alicia Keys and Tyra Banks for the College Edition of the CW show.

‘Tyler Perry comes on and gives the contestants an acting challenge. The winner of that acting challenge is actually going to be in a Tyler Perry movie’, Tyra told TV Guide in a recent interview.

Alicia Keys will mentor the hopeful models during an episode.

I really hate that Tyra let her original team of judges go. Miss Jay and the crew brought so much personality to the show. Hopefully they will make an appearance during the season.

  • Each episode makes me fall even more in love with Tyler Perry's latest TBS sitcom. The daughter of the late Whitney Houston made her acting debut last night on 'For Better or Worse'. I must say that Bobbi did an outstanding job for this to have been her first acting gig. Honestly, I prefer her acting over her singing.

Nonetheless, I suggest that you guys tune into the series if you haven't already. The show isn't your typical Tyler Perry drama. I will take this show over BET's 'The Game' or VH1's 'Single Ladies' any day.

Tyler Perry's 'For Better or Worse' airs on Friday at 9 PM est!

Check out the second episode which aired last night below.

  • Mogul Tyler Perry took to his Facebook account to blast rumors that the daughter of the late Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, stormed off the set of his scripted series 'For Better Or Worse'. Reports surfaced earlier this week that Bobbi stormed off angry and quit the show.

    Perry says:

LEAVE THIS BABY ALONE AND STOP THE LIES PLEASE!!!

I woke up this morning to my publicist calling me saying that there were reports that Bobbi Kristina walked off the set of "For Better Or Worse". NOT TRUE AT ALL PEOPLE!!! There is no way that she could have walked off the set because we have finshed taping the season.

After Whitney's funeral, Krissi and I spent a long time talking about her goals and dreams. She said she wanted to act. That’s when I decided to write her into "For Better Or Worse". I thought that there would be no better way for me to help her move through the grieving than by giving her something to focus on. The one thing that I learned after my mother's death is that you have to keep busy and you have to be around people who you can trust, so that when you do grieve you can do it in the safety and privacy of people that care.

Were there tough days for her? Yes of course. Not because of the actng or any job-related issues but because of the fact that she had just lost her mother. And being someone who knows about losing their mother, I know grief comes in different ways and you never know when it's going to hit you or how it's going to hit you, for that matter. Some days you're smiling and happy and some days you’re so broken that you can't stop crying. So yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time.

So please... PLEASE LEAVE THIS BABY ALONE!!!! AND SHE IS A BABY!!! Please stop the lies and give this child some room to breathe and grieve.

IF IT WAS YOUR CHILD WOULND’T YOU WANT THAT?

    -Tyler

Is it me or does casting Bobbi K in his show seem a little opportunistic of Tyler?

  • Mogul Tyler Perry has released a new extended trailer for his newest film Madea's Witness Protection. The film is about a family that have been placed in witness protection due to them being sought after from a mob. This clip is a lot better than the original snippet that Perry released a month ago.

Can Tyler Perry introduce another character because I am honestly getting tired of Madea. I can't wait for his television show 'For Better Or Worse' to return to television this Fall.

  • I'm not excited about Tyler Perry 'Madea' movies like I use to be. Now it seems that the writer/actor throws out movies for a quick coin. Ugh. But like most I will be at the movie theatre to see his newest movie this Summer. The movie, 'Madea Witness Protection', is about a investment banker and his family that are placed in witness protection and forced to live in Madea's home.

Tyler Perry's new film hits theaters June 29th. The movie also stars Romeo Miller.

  • When Tyler Perry announced that he had cast reality star Kim Kardashian in her new movie 'The Marriage Counselor', the black population went into an instant uproar. While on Chelsea Lately promoting his new movie 'Good Deeds', Perry decided to clear up the rumors surrounding his decision to cast Kim. Tyler stated that he really didn't know who she was nor the drama surrounding her when he first made the decision. He went on to state that her role is 'very small' and that she did a great job.

In other news, Tyler's newest film 'Good Deeds' comes in at #2 at the weekend box office with $16 million in ticket sales.

  • Actor Tyler Perry stopped by the Jay Leno show to promote his new movie 'Good Deeds' which is out on February 24th. I'm so tired of him throwing movies out that all have the same message. In what is definitely good news to my ears, TBS has ordered 35 more episodes of his 'For Better or Worse' series which served as a spinoff to his 'Why Did I Get Married' movies. People do not realize how good the show is compared to the movies. I encourage everyone to head over to TBS.com and watch the show from it's pilot season.

Peep his interview with Leno below.
