  • The one thing that I love about Solange Knowles is that she definitely knows how to promote her material. No matter how big or small the stage is, you can always count on Solange to give her all during her performances.

Solange took to Glastonbury 2013 tonight to offer a performance of her track "Losing You" from her TRUE EP. Solange definitely rocked the crowd to the point where one of her breast popped out.

Solo isn't the first of the Knowles clan to rock the stage at Glastonbury. Beyonce did a full set during Glastonbury 2011 while pregnant with daughter Blue Ivy.

    Check out Solange's performance above.

  • Solange rocked a Fluo Orange Gabardine Block Flower dress during her recent performance in Milan. Solange took to the Glamour Live Show to perform a few of her tracks including "Losing You". Solange tried a new pin-up do with her hair which I'm not too sold on.

Solange is currently in the studio recording the follow up to her True EP which will be released via her own label (a collaboration with Sony).

    Are you feeling the look?

  • Singer Solange chatted recently with Brooklyn Magazine about new music and motherhood. In the issue, Solange reveals that she is currently in the studio working on her new album which will be released via her own label (a collaboration with Sony).

"I'm working on my next record. I started writing about three months ago. I've been so lucky to meet such wonderful and beautiful inspiring friends, and we all have these experiences that could have only happened here," says Solange.

Solange also spoke on the subject of being a single parent.

"You know my parents are here, my sister is here, my cousin is here, all my friends are here. We really wanted Julez to have the experience that we had growing up - being able to drop in on his aunt's house and being able to hang out with Grandma and have that experience of actually having a soccer game and actually having family show up," she says. "It's such a beautiful feeling, but also having that village  is a necessary reality so that I'm able to pursue my passion both outside of motherhood and outside of my career." [Source]

  • 'Love Em Good' singer Vina Mills returns with a new banger from her new album Blue Gold. Vina sings about how falling back in love with her ex had an impact on her life in the new track 'My X'. This song is definitely a Summer banger. "Was suppose to be one time now I'm back in love with you," she sings.

Who knew that airing your dirty laundry could sound so good? Singer Kelly Rowland definitely won us over this Summer with her new single 'Dirty Laundry' which offered us an insight into her past abusive relationship and rocky past with Beyonce. Kelly's new album Talk A Good Game hits stores on June 18th.

Come thru Solange! My fave teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for the remix to track 'Looks Good With Trouble' which is featured on her True EP. I remember hearing Solange perform the extended version during her concert in Atlanta and instantly fell in love.

  • Solange Knowles unexpectedly treated fans to the remix of her track Looks Good With Trouble from her TRUE EP. Solange teams up with rapper Kendrick Lamar for the full track which she performed during her tour stop in Atlanta a few months ago.

    Listen below.

  • Singer Solange teams up with Refinery29.com and Absolut Tune to deliver a fresh Summer video for her track Locked In Closets. Even though it's only a mini video, this is by far one of my most favorite visuals from Solo.

The track appears on Solange's latest EP True which you can purchase here

    Thoughts?

  • Solange Knowles made a surprise guest appearance during The XX's performance at Coachella over weekend. Solange teamed up with the group to perform her track 'Locked in Closets' from her True EP in addition to a cover of Aaliyah's 'Hot Like Fire' track.

While it wasn't her best vocal performance, I was excited to see Solange on the stage at the festival. Hopefully next year she can headline her own set for the many concert goers that come out to party and have a good time.

    Thoughts?
  • Pull through Solange. Solo hit the stage at David Letterman last week to perform 'Don't Let Me Down' in support of her latest EP True. Ugh - I love Solange so much is this track just happens to be my favorite from the album.

Solange sounded amazing but I am not feeling this afro. Can we go back to the big curly fro from the Hadley Street Dreams era please?

Let me say, I attended Solange's concert last week in Atlanta and I am still high and tired from the amount of fun that I had. Solange always puts on a good show and the creativity that she brings out of others fashions amazes me.

What's your favorite track from the True EP?

  • Anyone that keeps up with my blog posts would know that I was very upset with Solange after hearing the snippets from her new EP True one week ago. You can't judge a book by its cover nor can you judge an album from its snippets. Solange embodied everything I wanted from her vocally and lyrically into this 7-track EP which is due out this week.

The singer makes her return to the music industry via Terrible Records for the first time since the release of her last album Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams in 2008. The album serves a heavy vintage tease. Solange has been quoted as stating that she pulled inspiration for the album from the New Wave era which is very evident in the dance tracks which also punch a heavy urban influence. The album is produced by Solange's friend and collaborator Dev Hynes.

Something about Solange's new music makes me want to hit up the thrift store and find the craziest patterns/colors to rock while not giving a damn about what anyone says because I am feeling good. Makes sense? 'Don't Let Me Down' is definitely my fave from the compilation. The musical arrangement for the track is sick and Solange gives me those vocals that I fell in love with on her last album as she sings about not wanting her significant other to let her down. Can someone pass me a cup of Whiskey and a fat blunt as I twirl in my office while snapping my fingers to this track? If I were to die and come back as a soprano in someone's choir I would definitely want to be Solange. Solo serves us some ole nasty vocals and harmonizing in the track 'Bad Girls' which also carries a very heavily influenced 80s vibe which stems from the use of the electric guitar. Love it!

Ch. Solange tried to slide us a sexy slow jam into True. Have you ever met that bad guy that stays in trouble but it turns you on so much? Me too. Solange sings about that guy that your family will always hate in the track 'Look Good In Trouble.' The song is very short and simple but still managed to end up in my top three favorites from the album. The beat resembles that of a heart beating which makes the track very catchy. Yes GAWD! 'Locked In Closets' is definitely the track that will have all the 'girls' popping it at the next barbecue. The bass in the beat will draw you in from the first drop when the track starts. Can Solange release this track to radio?

'Lovers In The Park' has grown on me since surfacing earlier this week. "Played around with your heart, now I'm playing around in the dark,' she sings. I relate heavily with the track because I do play around with people emotions a lot and end up feeling stupid when they don't want me anymore. Very catchy musical arrangement. If I could eliminate one track from the album it would be 'Some Things Never Seem to F**cking Work.' The track does nothing for me even though it has a catchy title and the face that she sounds good.

Overall, I am absolutely in love with the True EP. The tracks flow very smoothly with one another and if you listen closely the package tells a story that I am sure that each of us adults can relate to. This EP will hold me over quite well until Solange releases her third studio album. Think the Beatles meet Prince and a few other legends in one perfect collection. I'm actually glad that Solange didn't include 'Sleep In The Park' on the EP. I am hooked on the track but it doesn't fit in with the vibe of these tracks. [Rating: 9 out 10]

  • Damn. I am very disappointed in singer Solange with the material that she has released in this new era. I am such a huge fan of Solange which is why many of you will probably be shocked that I am not anticipating this new album anymore. Solange & the Hadley Street Dreams was such an epic album which is why I don't understand why she jumped from the 70s inspired vibe to this 80s-90s barbecue trash.

Most of the gays are living for Solange's new material but that is only because they think they are unique and creative. The music sounds forced and the production sounds cheap. I am really upset but I will still be purchasing True when it hits stores next week.

    Thoughts?

  • I'm not anticipating Solange's new True EP anymore. Snippets from the singers new collaboration with Terrible Records have surfaced via Amazon. With the exception of 'Sleep in the Park', the rest sounds like garbage. Anyone that knows me understands how big of a Solange stan I am and will be pretty shocked that I am not feeling her new material.

I'm sure that after a few listens to the album I will fall in love.

    Preview the tracks here.

  • Solange definitely knows that yellow is her color. The singer took to Mexico City over the weekend to DJ at the launch of the new H&M store. Solange rocked a lovely yellow ensemble with her Fendi sandals.

Aside from her DJ-ing gigs, Solange is gearing up for the release of her new EP True which will be released via Terrible Records.

    Are you feeling the look?

  • Disappointed. Singer Solange released her new single 'Losing You' today. The song is cute but I was hoping for a little more being that it is her first single in four years. The song gives me an 80s feel as does the video which was shot in South Africa.

My problem with the track is that it sounds like it was shot in a bathroom. I'm so use to Solange's material being high quality which is why I cannot tolerate this new song. On another note, another track she released titled 'Sleep In the Park' is much better.

Watch the video below. What are your thoughts?

  • MTV caught up with singer Solange on the set of her new video for 'Losing You'. Solo chatted about her new album and more with the network explaining how insanely excited she is about the new music. The video set was designed by artist Mickalene Thomas whom Solange has grown to become a huge fan of.

'It's been about three or four years since I have put out music so I kinda wanted to set up the project with a really good visual,' says Solange.

'Losing You' premiere on October 2nd.

  • Solange took to her official website to release a new image from the set of her new music video for 'Losing You'. I am highly anticipating the release of new music from Solange. The video looks like it will definitely be everything artistically.

I am personally hoping that Solo follows in the same path of her sophomore album 'Solange & the Hadley Street Dreams'. The 70's disco era is definitely her lane.

Check out the video preview here.

  • Singer Solange took to her official website today to reveal the official snippet for her new video 'Losing You'. The track, which will be released on October 2nd, will serve as the lead single from Solange's next studio album.

The video looks like it will be very artistic. The individuals in the clip take turns kissing one another while passing around the yellow square on their lips. I wonder what the yellow square represents because Solange also uses it on the opening to her website.

I am very excited to hear new music from Solange. Her sophomore album 'Solange & the Hadley Street Dreams' is one of the best album that I own. The lyrical content on that project was absolutely amazing.

    Check the clip below.

  • It's about damn time. Singer Solange Knowles has finally revealed when we can expect new material from her. Beyonce's younger sibling revealed via South Africa's Sunday Times that her new single will be titled 'Losing You' and will premiere next month with a video which will be shot documentary style.

    Via South Africa Sunday Times:

The video for her single will be shot “documentary style” in and around Cape Town and will be released around the world next month while she will also grace the cover of South Africa’s Elle magazine in November. The singer described her upcoming single as “eclectic with ’80s references and African percussion influences”.Knowles said her music video would be filmed like a “stylised documentary” at locations around the city. The song is from her third studio album recorded with British producer, Dev Hynes, who has previously collaborated with Florence and the Machine and The Chemical Brothers. [Source]

This is great news from those like myself that became huge fans of Solange's after her previous album 'Solange and the Hadley Street Dreams.' Her sophomore album was creative both lyrically and visually.

Are you anticipating Solange's new album?

  • Solange Knowles gave Elle Magazine a glimpse inside her Brooklyn pad inside the latest issue of their magazine. I absolutely love that Solange took it back old school with the furniture and decorations inside of her home. I absolutely love and adore Solange's style.

Solange shares the home with her photographer boyfriend Alan Ferguson.

Solange needs to stop with the magazine spreads and release her new album.

  • I am really getting tired of Solange nabbing endorsement deals and not giving us a new album. Madewell announced today that the ‘Cosmic Journey’ singer is the new face of their 2012 Fall Mix Well campaign.

Solange looks fab as always in the promotional ads for the line which really compliments her style.

Check out some behind-the-scenes footage below.
