  • Singer Melanie Fiona gives us another glimpse of the backstage footage from the Liberation Tour from this past Summer. Melanie took to the road with singers Mary J. Blige and D'Angelo. The singer takes us inside her wardrobe container and rehearsals in the new clip.

Either Melanie's label stepped their game up or she hired her own digital team because she has been slaying these past few weeks.

I hope that she delivers another powerful album next year. The MF Life was very underrated.

  • I'm so glad that Melanie Fiona didn't give up on her latest album even though it didn't do that well on the charts. The singer pushes forward with another video release from the album with the track 'Change The Record' which features rapper B.O.B. The video is actually quite nice however I wish that she would shoot a video for 'I Been That Girl.'

Melanie's latest album The MF Life is by far my most favorite album from this year.

    Thoughts?

  • Singer Melanie Fiona is not giving up on her latest album The MF Life despite the low record sales. The singer has announced that the track ‘Wrong Side Of A Love Song’ will serve as the official fourth single from her album.

Melanie garnered a standing ovation for her performance of the track last month during the BET Awards. I was hoping that Melanie would release that track or ‘Running’ which features rapper Nas as a single.

On another note, Melanie covered singer Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic’ during a recent Billboard Live session.

    Check the performance below.

  • I'm so glad that singer Melanie Fiona didn't give up on her new album The MF Life even though it tanked. The singer has released the official video for her current single 'This Time' which features rapper J.Cole.

I honestly would have preferred if Melanie released 'Running' as a single which features rapper Nas versus this one. I am quite impressed with the quality of the visual tho.

If you haven't purchased The MF Life make sure you do. Read my review here.

  • Singer Melanie Fiona stopped by CentricTV to be featured in their Unwritten series. During her segment, Melanie talked about her inspiration behind her favorite song 'Wrong Side Of A Love Song' from her latest album.

There is no denying that Melanie's new album 'The MF Life' is one of the best albums that I have heard thus far this year. It is sad that her label didn't promote the track like they should have.

  • Melanie Fiona drops her latest video for 'Watch Me Work' from her new album The MF Life. Although I do NOT like this video I live for the song. If you guys do not have this album you are really missing out. The MF Life gave me everything I was missing in REAL R&B. I just wish she would have made a better video.

There are a lot of things going on in the video. I believe she tried to show all the kick a*s women from movies, shows, music and politics in this video. While I applaud her for that, in my opinion it was a little all over the place. I guess this could very well be an example of when trying to be different goes wrong.

    Watch and weigh in below.

  • Grammy winner Melanie Fiona definitely rocked the house on the Jay Leno show this past week. The singer graced the late night talkshow to perform 'This Time' with rapper J.Cole. Melanie released her new album 'The MF Life' this past week and is expected to sell less than 30k.

I really hate it that Melanie's album didn't sell more being that it is definitely one of the best albums released within the last 12 months.

  • Singer Melanie Fiona looks quite nice rocking a summer dress and yellow tie on the latest issue of Vibe Vixen. The singer just released her sophomore album 'The MF Life' yesterday; catch my review here. It will be interesting to see how well Melanie's album does this week because we all know that Universal Republic does not believe in the promotion of their artist.

Melanie dishes on her love and heartbreak in this issue.

  • What exactly makes an album ‘great’? Collaborations and production teams have very little influence on me liking an album; it is rather the artist delivery of the material that draws me to it. I honestly did not know what to expect when I began to listen to singer Melanie Fiona’s sophomore album ‘The MF Life’. Radio hasn’t been that accepting of her material since her debut single ‘It Kills Me’ from her previous album.

I did not purchase Melanie’s debut album ‘The Bridge’ however I glanced thru it and wasn’t drawn to the combustion of tracks that did not mesh well.
I’m a fan of songs that serve me an oldie vibe such as Melanie did in ‘Running’ which features rapper Nas. In the track, which sounds like it could have been written for the late Amy Winehouse, we find Melanie singing about having to chase after the one that she is in love with. Another track where Melanie served me a vintage vibe would be in ‘Bones’ in which she sings about wanting to be closer to her lover. I can almost see Melanie with a 40s Marilyn Monroe hairdo as she sings ‘gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme your bones’.

It is no secret that most artist compile their best material when they are going thru a bad breakup which is why I find it hard to believe that Melanie recently called it quits with her boyfriend months after recording this album. In the slow track of ‘I Been That Girl’ we hear Melanie nearly whisper as she sings about being that girl that has been in that bad relationship to the point where I can actually believe she has experienced what she is singing about. Melanie also sounds believable in ‘Break Down These Walls’ as she sings about being in a one-sided relationship with someone that has their guard up. I absolutely love that nearly all of the tracks on the album are about real life situations that I for one can relate with.

Did I mention that this girl can ‘sang’? ‘Wrong Side Of A Love Song’ had me nearly in tears as I listened while sipping my Moscato and glancing thru pictures of my ex. Melanie really showcased her vocals in the track as she belts that ‘I don’t wanna be without you’ to her spouse.

It wouldn’t be fair in this age to not include some more ‘radio acceptable’ tracks. In crossover track ‘Change The Record’ which features rapper B.O.B., Melanie sings about ‘moving on’ past a relationship over a heavy drum and piano background. I honestly did not care for the track ‘6 AM’ which features T-Pain until I experienced the beat via my car speakers (computer speakers do nothing for the mid-tempo track). Is that Beyonce’s ‘Ring The Alarm’ I hear? No. It’s ‘This Time’ which features rapper J.Cole where Melanie declares what she will do whatever it takes to make her relationship right if she gets another chance.

If Melanie stripped away all of her collaborations, ‘The MF Life’ would still be an amazing album. Melanie sings each song like she is living what she is preaching. If you are looking for a party album then this will not satisfy you. Real music. I am definitely a new fan of this ‘artist’.

  • Singer Melanie Fiona gives us an inside look at the making of her sophomore album 'The MF Life' which is due out next week. From the tracks that I have heard thus far from the album, it sounds as if it will be a good start for music this year. Like her fellow peers, Melanie will fall victim to low album sales because her record label refuses to promote their artist.

Melanie is a part of the Universal Republic label; the same label that sh*tted on Kelly Rowland's last project.

  • Why is Melanie Fiona leaking all the tracks for her new album 'The MF Life'? Another song has surfaced from singer in the form of 'This Time' which features rapper J Cole. The hook and beat for the track really bring me to like it. The singer talks about giving her all 'this time' around if her lover gives her another chance.

I honestly think that Melanie's sophomore album will be great, however will she pull in the right sales? Hmmm.

  • This is what I needed in my life. 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' has surfaced from singer Melanie Fiona's sophomore 'The MF Life'. Melanie tweeted that the track leaked and then proceeded to tweet the link for the song. Obviously Melanie is fed up with the way that her team has been handling her next album and decided to take things into her own hands. I must say that the track is by far the best to surface from the new album; oldie vibe.

Will you be purchasing Melanie's next album?
