Singer Frank Ocean is having a great week for sure. The singer is unexpectedly one of the artist leading the 2013 Grammy nominations. Frank's 'Channel Orange' album earned him five nominations including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
In addition to his Grammy nominations, Times Magazine named Frank's debut album one of the Top 10 albums of 2012. Go behind the scenes of his GQ Magazine interview and photoshoot below.Thoughts? -

Singer Frank Ocean took the theatrical route in the new video for his track 'Pyramids'. The singer jets to the strip club on his motorcycle in the desert where he finds nothing but half naked women being seduced by old men. Frank later finds singer John Mayer who gives a great guitar performance.
It is good to really see Frank's creative side. The song is one of everyone's favorite from the album so I definitely seeing the song being a hit if it receives single treatment.

Some of you are simply haters. You guys always want the over the top performances but when an artist gives that and don't deliver then you are pissed. Singer Frank Ocean decided to keep things simple during his performance of his single 'Thinking Bout You' at the 2012 VMA awards.
I'm still shocked that Frank was able to grace the main stage at an award show as such. The singer just released his debut album Channel Orange a few months ago.
Check out the performance below. -
Singer Frank Ocean graced the stage last night in Atlanta for a packed house at Center Stage. The singer is promoting his debut album 'Channel Orange' which was released last week. Frank performed tracks from his new album which included 'Bad Religion', 'Pink Matter', and 'Thinking About You' to name a few.
If you guys were familiar with Frank before he began his solo career, you may know that he is the one that wrote 'I Miss You' from Beyonce's latest album. Screams roared across the crowd as Frank put his own spin on the track.
It surprises me that the women are still screaming and falling out even after Frank admitted his sexual preference.- I Miss You- Bad Religion- Thinking About You -
Singer Frank Ocean kicked off his 'Channel Orange' tour over the weekend in Seattle after a very successful week. The singer's debut album is set to debut at #2 on the Billboard charts despite only being released digitally this past week.I just find it amazing that a newcomer can release an album and publicly admit he's bisexual and still slay the record sales of half of these 'tough' artist (i.e. Chris Brown).Check out a few of the performances below. On another note, my birthday is next Sunday so if you guys would like to 'bless' me with tickets to Frank's show that night in Atlanta that would be greatly appreciated.

Singer Frank Ocean has been the hot topic on everyone's tongue this past week ahead of the release of his debut album 'Channel Orange'. The singer/songwriter took to Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon last night to perform his track 'Bad Religion' which is on his new album.
Frank also let his fans in for a surprise when he announced that his album would hit iTunes at midnight last night. The physical copy of the album hits stores next Tuesday. -
The Sweet Life is what Frank himself is living now. Frank stated "sleep I would often share with him"in the song which is penned from his coming out letter. The Sweet Life has a very melodic sound.Listen as Frank draws you in to the domesticated paradise. The Pharrel produced track is a cut from his debut album Channel Orange.

First off let me say CONGRATULATIONS and ABOUT DAMN TIME! I am not saying about damn time to Frank Ocean but about damn time that someone in this music industry steps up. Steps up from the shadow and stereotype of the certain "image" gentlemen in the music industry are supposed to have. Steps up to brave the world and be proud of who they truly are. My hat is off to Frank Ocean, on July 4, 2012, at 1:40am I salute Frank Ocean.
There have been many rumors swirling around about this mans sexuality as if it made any difference in the first place. Now initially I did not believe them I thought everyone was reaching and just trying to make a story. So I decided not to say anything until NOW. Tonight Frank Ocean posted two tweets on his timeline that could very well change the face of music FOREVER. The rumors of Frank Ocean being bisexual began maybe a day or two ago. Stating that he was singing to men on three of his tracks slated to be on his debut album. The songs were Forest Gump, Bad Religion and Pink Matter. I played it all to the left stating that he was just possibly singing from a girls perspective to get them to be able to relate.
I was wrong. Frank posted a tweet on his timeline stating that BaseGod (the rapper) was right. The tweet stated
"we’re all a bunch of golden million dollar babies. my hope is that the babies born these days will inherit less of the bullshit than we did. anyhow, what I'm about to post is for anyone who cares to read. it was intended to fill the thank you’s section in my album credits, but with all the rumors going round.. i figured it’d be good to clarify.. "Frank went on to post this link to his tumblr http://t.co/mP7zEm3aWhen I read that link a tear almost fell from my eye. The fact that I am seeing a black man in the industry to come out of the closet and embrace himself fully. The black gay community has to put up with so much in this world when it comes to our sexuality. It has gotten so bad that people are afraid to come out and show who they really are and love themselves. I commend Frank Ocean for not being someone who everyone else wants him to be but sticking true to who he is.No matter what race, gender and sexuality you are there will always be ONE person who will come into your life and change it FOREVER! For Frank Ocean that person happens to be a male. Frank goes on to say how he tried to hide his feelings through dating females. I love that Frank decided to share a piece of himself with the world tonight without being forced or outed by someone.I'm not going to ramble on but I truly admire and respect Frank Ocean. I thank him for being honest, real and living his life for exactly who he needs to live it for, HIM! -
Singer Frank Ocean just doesn't do it for me and I wouldn't dare waste 10-minutes listening to one of his tracks. The singer has released a new track 'Pyramids' from his upcoming debut titled 'Channel Orange'. Something about Frank's music just doesn't click and I feel like most of you are jumping on board because you think he will be the next big thing.
Nonetheless, I wouldn't mind attending his Channel Orange concert this Summer. I know.
Channel Orange hits stores July 17th.

Hip Hop legends Jay Z & Kanye West throw us the visual for the third single off of Watch The Throne. 'No Church In The Wild' was directed by Romain Gavras and shot in Prague. Although neither of the rappers or Frank appear in the video it was very intriguing.
The video gives a riot feel. Citizens running around town setting things on fire, flipping cars and fighting the police. The people want justice for something in the video chile I just don't know what it is though. *Kanye shrug*. The video was very much apocalyptic. The imagery was well shot and executed correctly.
Feast your eyes on the amazing visual that is 'No Church In The Wild' below. -
Singer Frank Ocean may have one of the worst teams that I have noticed from any artist, however that doesn't slow the singer/songwriter down from producing good music. Another great track has surfaced from the 'Novacane' singer in the form of 'Whip Appeal'. It is no secret that Frank's long anticipated mix tape 'Nostalgia Ultra' isn't happened, however fans can expect his debut album late Spring/early Summer.
The song is quite cute. Will you be purchasing Frank's debut album? -
Amidst a pending lawsuit, singer/songwriter Frank Ocean is continuing on his grind of putting out good music. The singer has officially released 'Thinking About You' as his current single after penning the song previously for Roc Nation's Bridget Kelly.
I must say that I really like this song more than the other crap that I have heard from the newcomer. Hopefully this is just a sample of what's to come from the hit maker. -
Lord. Record companies are suffering so much financially now that they are threatening to sue people for songs that they sampled on a 'free' mix tape. The Eagles' head label Warner Music Group are threatening to sue Frank Ocean for his use of 'Hotel California' on his Nostalgia mix tape. Ma'am, that mix tape came out over a year ago; why do you all care now?
Larry Solters, a representative for the Eagles, tells SPIN magazine:
“Frank Ocean did not merely ‘sample’ a portion of the Eagles’ Hotel California; he took the whole master track, plus the song’s existing melody, and replaced the lyrics with his own. This is not creative, let alone ‘intimidating.’ It’s illegal. For the record, Don Henley has not threatened or instituted any legal action against Frank Ocean, although the Eagles are now considering whether they should. Any further questions regarding this matter should be directed to Warner Music Group as it is the entity that currently owns the master recording and made the contact with Frank Ocean’s representatives concerning his infringement of the master recording.”
If the Eagles' were to sue and win, they couldn't ask for any royalties because there are NONE. The real question is will they seek for him to repay them for the times he performed the song on tour?
