It looks like singer Erica Campbell wasn't playing about her new single. The gospel singer, of the hit gospel duo Mary Mary, has ventured out on her own to start a new solo career. Erica debuted her lead solo single 'A Little More' one day after performing with her sister Tina as a group on ABC's The View.
The song is nice but I expected something that would better showcase her vocals as a solo star.
Discuss.

Look at God. Singer Erica Campbell from the hit gospel duo Mary Mary is finally stepping out on her own. The singer is gearing up for the release of her new album this Summer with a single being released next month. It is no secret that Erica's solo career has been the topic of discussion after falling out numerous times with her sister Tina about it on their WETV reality show.
Erica's solo efforts come as part of a new partnership that her husband Warryn has formed with EOne music. Warryn, who is responsible for a majority of Mary Mary's hits, teams with the label via his own Block Records label. EOne will help with the production and marketing of Warryn's artist.
Warryn has also been in the studio working with singer Michelle Williams whose new single is due in the coming weeks. -
Lawd hammercy Jesus, what's going on? The ladies of gospel duo Mary Mary return for season two of their hit WETv reality show. The drama continues as the two clash about the direction of the group and Tina's pregnancy. I am definitely not feeling the hair that these ladies are rocking in the confessionals. They two stepped their coinage up and tried to go all Beyonce with the lacefronts and that absolutely don't fit them.
Nonetheless, I am highly anticipating the new season of their show. The new season premieres on December 6th at 10 PM est.
The conversation of Erica becoming a solo artist is a hot topic on the show again. I have always thought that Erica could pull a crowd on her own without the help of her sister. Will you be tuning in? -
I was definitely wondering if gospel duo Mary Mary would be returning as judges on BET's gospel singing competition Sunday Best after the huge success of their WEtv reality series. After BET started running the new promo for the show I decided to do a little digging to see if the ladies would double-up on television and continue with the show.
Gospel singers Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans will fill the vacant spots left by the ladies. Donnie McClurkin will resume his spot which he took after Bebe Winans left the show.
My question is why would BET make a singing competition about gospel? Ch. -
The ladies of gospel duo Mary Mary definitely brought the heat through the entire season of their reality show including the season finale. Tina and Erica are preparing for the Grammy's in which we see them having a huge disagreement as usual.
Peep the footage below as the ladies 'blow up' on each other. I see solo careers in the future. -
Gospel duo Mary Mary will take us for another spin on the next episode of their hit WEtv reality series. The sisters are forced to come out with a hit single for their label in addition juggling the two pregnancies within them. I absolutely love their little sister Bo and thinks that she brings a lot to the show in addition to their manager Mitchell.
The sisters revealed this week that the network has picked them up for a second season. The first season of the show has accumulated 11.1 million views in the first six episodes. -
The ladies of gospel duo Mary Mary have another reason to celebrate after their WEtv reality television series has been picked up for season two. The ladies revealed the good news on ABCs Good Morning America while out promoting their new album.
I am definitely a fan of their reality show. The ladies brought more heat than I would have ever expected from a gospel artist. Let's see how mad the Braxton's get this time around.
No word on when filming will begin. -
Many of you may recall how thick the shade was last week on Twitter after Tamar/Towanda Braxton decided to come for singer Jill Scott after she tweeted telling everyone to watch gospel duo Mary Mary's reality television series (see here).
Apparently Erica and Tina caught wind of the situation and had this to say via Singersoom (the shade is bolded):
“People are always gonna express their opinions…I really have no response for someone getting upset at someone else’s opinion…I’m just happy that Jill likes the show and she thought it was good,” Erica commented. Tina, the other half of the duo, added, “And I’m happy that Tamar is following our tweets, watching our show… otherwise, she wouldn’t know all the comments that are happening in Jill’s timeline, so that’s a good thing.”
I love these two for always keeping it real. [Source] -
I will admit that I was a little taken back when I saw that Mary Mary would be pole dancing on this week's episode of their WEtv reality TV show. What are two highly respectable ladies in the gospel industry doing sliding up and down a pole?So like others, I traveled over to WEtv.com to read the comments and backlash that I knew the ladies would receive from the airing of the episode. I was extremely disappointed in the so-called Christians that left such nasty and hateful comments towards the ladies below the videos. Because a few Christian women decided to pole dance with their sisters as a form of exercise you guys are going to criticize them? If I am not mistaking the Bible says in John 7:24 'Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgement'. So yes the ladies may have been doing something that the mainstream has turned around and twisted, but you guys know where there hearts are. Do you realize how many young individuals that Mary Mary have introduced to Christ or saved from committing suicide?Pole dancing did not originate in Magic City, it began in the circus as a form of performing art and has quickly become a very popular form of fitness. So my question to those that criticized the ladies is where exactly are your hearts? Is your mind so diseased that you can't help but to think about sex when you see a pole? Christians really bother me. And the nerve of some of y'all to even use that time to judge their fashion. If you want Christian ladies to wear turtle necks all the time then maybe you should convert to being a Muslim. If anything, the ladies are showing the world and those afraid of Christ that it isn't as bad as you think. You don't have to sit around being sad and unhappy because you decided to give your life to Christ. My suggestion to some of you is that you chill or change the channel.Keep it cute or keep it mute. -
Girl. Really? Gospel singers Erica and Tina Campbell (Mary Mary) will show the most un-Christain like act on the next episode of their WEtv reality series. The sisters will vacay to Palm Springs for a girls weekend out and do a little pole-dancing for fun. If they were doing this in the privacy of their homes I wouldn't see any problem with it, but the fact that they are doing it on national television will upset quite a few people I am sure.
In other news, Erica forced Tina to take a pregnancy test which we all know came back positive. Honestly, the ladies are definitely playing with their money and future by continuously throwing these babies out back to back.
Peep the snippet below. -
Girl. Was this a joke? Gospel duo Mary Mary premiered their brand new video for their current single 'Go Get It' after their reality show last night. Let's cut the crap, the video looked highly cheap and ghetto. I thought the ladies would bring it with a nice concept and visuals being that they are definitely on everyones radar with the new show. Ugh. If the ladies of Mary Mary would stop trying to be secular artist the video would have been a lot better. Nonetheless, I still love their music.
Anyone caught how Erica was serving Beyonce tease with the long straight, blonde Indian Remy? -
The ladies of gospel duo Mary Mary are definitely bringing the heat on their new WEtv reality show. The drama continues on this weeks episode as the ladies find themselves making some financial cuts to their teams while dealing with the constant setbacks due to Tina's pregnancy.
On another note, Erica reveals she is pregnant once more. Why do they keep throwing out babies? Erica claims she didn't have time to take her birth control but she had enough time to have sex? Girl. -
Gospel duo Mary Mary were the talk of the town last week when their new reality show premiered on WEtv. The sister's return this week with more drama and family problems as Tina finds herself criticized about her weight gain. Tina is obviously the more vocal one out of the pair.
We also see Erica struggle with touring while pregnant.
No shade but Tina did gain a lot of weight and now that she is pregnant once more, ch. -
Gospel duo Mary Mary were the talk all over Twitter last night when their new WEtv reality show premiered. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we were impressed with what the ladies brought to the table. The show was definitely entertaining from beginning to end.
Watch as the ladies juggle family and business life in the premiere episode below. -
More snippets of gospel duo Mary Mary's new reality show have surfaced via WEtv. In the show we will get to see the women struggle to balance family life versus their career. I am actually anticipating the new series from the sister's.
I've noticed that I have slowly become tired of the fighting on other reality show so this will definitely serve as a breath of fresh air. -
They may be gospel artist but these girls are definitely serving up some entertaining drama. WEtv has released another snippet of the duo's new reality series which will showcase their family life as well as their entertainment lifestyle. In the clip we see the sister's going at it with their manager over their tour obligations and things get a tad bit heated when Erica feels like they are more concerned about money versus her unborn child.
Whoever decided to put that queen they call a manager on the show knew exactly what they were doing. It seems from the previews that most of the altercations will involve him.
Catch the premiere of their show later this month. -
For weeks we have been talking about the new reality show for gospel duo Mary Mary; now we have the visuals. When I first heard that the Grammy Award winning artist would be serving up reality on WEtv, I began to think how boring it would actually be. I digress. The snippet for the series looks quite interesting and contains just enough drama to keep them on the air.
Erica and Tina take us inside their lives to show us exactly what it's like to be platinum selling artist but also maintain a life outside of showbiz. On another note, I am in love with their new single 'Go Get It'.
Peep the snippet for the Mary Mary series which premieres March 29th, on WEtv. -
There are some things that the women of Mary Mary have said that have pissed me off in the past, but there is no denying that these ladies make good music. The duo have returned with new single 'Go Get It' which talks about 'getting' your blessing. This song just easily made it onto my iPod.
Mary Mary's new album is due out in May but will only include two new songs (the others being remastered classics). Their WeTV reality series premieres March 29th at 10 PM.
