Lord. I have missed singer Anita Baker's soothing voice so much. Tyrese who? Anita has served us with a new track 'Lately' which is a cover of singer Tyrese's previous hit. The singer is currently busy in the studio working on her new album which will be out later this year.

In an industry that is so caught up on image, it is good to see artist like Anita attempting to make a return.

Are you feeling the new Anita? Does she still have a fan base?

Boring. I thought that I was going to be able to tolerate TVOne's new reality show R&B Divas, however the show looks like an absolute snoozefest. Besides the women being elderly in age, the drama on the show looks forced and exaggerated. What is the storyline for this show? Are the women working on an album together?

Ch. I can almost guarantee that Faith Evans is jumping for joy since she is the only one that many will recognize from the cast.

Did you catch the ratchetness that occurred last night on VH1's Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta? Miss Joseline Hernandez decided that she wanted to use the balls that she already has grow some balls during a counseling session with Stevie J and Mimi. First off, the fact that Mimi is even sitting in counseling with her boyfriend and his mistress solidifies the face that she is desperate for a man.

How can Joseline get mad at Stevie for being with his girlfriend when she is the mistress? Girl.

Nonetheless, Joseline got a few hits in before Stevie J dug her into the sofa leaving a fossil print. This show is so bad that it is so good.

Another day, another artist with a collaboration from rapper Lil Wayne. Trey Songz has released his latest track 'Hail Mary' which features rappers Lil Wayne & Young Jeezy. You may recall that images surfaced from the video shoot earlier this week which showcased a football theme (view here).

Am I the only one that feels like Trey is draining his brand by releasing a new album every year? It seems like radio would have grown tired of the R.Kelly protege but they continue to blast his music.

So Joseline and Karlie are friends now? Ch. The shade continues to get thicker on VH1s Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. I don't understand why Mona Scott continues to set up these random meetings between the castmates which are VERY random.

Nonetheless, Mimi should always wear shades because she is obviously blind. Why is she still entertaining the Stevie J/Joseline eight episodes in? She is obviously mixed with some other race other than African American because I know our women would have shut production down by now.

I'm not really a big fan of labels releasing music after an artist is past which will explain why I am not at all excited about this collaboration. Singer Rapper Drake has teamed up and produced a new track titled 'Enough Said' with some unreleased vocals from the deceased Aaliyah who died in a plane crash.

The song itself is cute but the fact that we will never see a live performance of it with Aaliyah really grabs the fun out of it for me. My question is how did Drake out of all people get to oversee this project? Did Aaliyah know what a Drake was while she was living?

Reality star turned actress Nene Leakes looks fabulous on the one year anniversary cover of Denim Magazine. Either Nene has been in the gym or Denim Magazine has one hell of a photoshop master. The colors really compliment compliment Nene and her figure.

Fans have been patiently waiting for Rihanna's interview with talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey on her 'Next Chapter' series. Oprah jetted to Rihanna's birthplace of Barbados to talk with the superstar about her life and more. Will Rihanna talk about the whole Chris Brown drama again or has she moved on?

In all honesty, would Rihanna be as big as she is had it not been for the Chris Brown incident? Some of you may say that she was big before then but the songs she had that blew up were written by him.

I would like to know where Rihanna is mentally in this interview. I no longer care about her being a 'battered woman'. We know Mother O asks the tough questions so this interview should be very enlightening.

The creativity that singer Elle Varner displayed in the lyrics for her debut mixtape 'Conversational Lush' instantly had me hooked to this diva. I remember listening to 'Refill' three months before it was released and thinking that this chick is definitely going to be big. Her raspy voice definitely gives Elle V an edge over other artist that are on the radio today.

The 'Conversational Lush' mix tape was so good that I was honestly afraid that Elle used all of her good tracks on it. Elle Varner's debut album 'Perfectly Imperfect' is exactly what the title labels it.

From the snippets that surfaced earlier this week, I knew that the soulful slow jam 'Not Tonight' would be one of my faves. Elle sings about being the girl that is bold enough to approach a guy versus him approaching her but she isn't going to do it that night. Elle's self harmonizing and the musical arrangement which included a harp and electric guitar definitely makes this track epic. Like I stated, I became a fan of Elle's due to her creative lyrical content. Elle sings about being there for her beau by using the comparison of 'I'll be there lighter than a leaf in your pocket, I'll be the air' in the song 'Leaf'; sexy track.

Did Elle just take us back to the 80s in her track titled 'Stop the Clock'? I love it. The way that Elle meshes today's R&B and sneaks in that liquor drinking, hip-throwing beat during the hook is simply brilliant.

In all honesty, a tear literally rolled down my face as I listened to 'Welcome Home'. The song is so relatable for anyone that has been on that journey to find love. Elle sings 'when all I ever needed was a good man, a lover, and a best friend ... someone to forgive me when I'm so wrong and reminds me welcome home'. Another track that I found to be very relatable was 'Damn Good Friends' where Elle sings about having that close friend that she is in love with but they don't know; the guitar adds so much. If I didn't know any better I would say that Elle Varner stole my diary and wrote an album from it.

'Oh What A Night' can definitely pass for a crossover hit. The track is so fun where we hear Elle sing about hanging out with her friends and getting drunk. She likes to drink, huh? Many of you are familiar with 'So Fly' which was also featured on her mix tape and also has the potential to be another crossover hit.

Elle Varner's début album 'Perfectly Imperfect' is definitely a must-have for those that are craving a taste of the 'blues' in R&B. I wish that Elle would have implemented a bit more creativity in her lyrics like we find in 'Conversational Lush'. Her raspy voice is so addictive and serves me an Al Green meets Solange Knowles vibe. 'Perfectly Imperfect' hits stores on August 7th.

Who signed up for this? Continuing with his efforts for his latest album 'Chapter V', singer Trey Songz shot his new video for 'Hail Mary' this past week with a few guest appearances. Trey Songz is smart if he was the one that decided to capitalize off the current fame of reality stars Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez in the visuals.

Actor/Comedian Kevin Hart also makes an appearance in the video which doesn't have a release date yet.

I'm quite sure that you guys are aware of how much I loved singer Elle Varner's mix tape 'Conversational Lush'. As the 'Refill' singer prepares to release her debut album 'Perfectly Imperfect', snippets from the album have surfaced.

I have never fallen in love with an album from just hearing snippets until now. So many artist claim that they are bringing real R&B back but I literally hear it in Elle V's tracks. I have already concluded that my favorite track from the album will be the sexy 'Not Tonight'.

There were rumors that the Love & Hip Hop Reunion was a no go because the girls couldn't get along and that the reunion would consist of separate interviews. Producer Mona Scott says that is all untrue because Love & Hip Hop reunion was filmed last night in New York.

Let's start with the obvious. We already knew which of the cast members were going to get into it. Of course Mimi and Joseline got into it and reportedly both are NOT happy about Stevie J's new girlfriend. Then there were K. Michelle and Karlie Redd which was no secret that they were going to have a battle.

Reportedly two of the cast mates came to blows on the reunion stage and it wasn't pretty. The two had occasional chat sessions on the show which puzzled me as to why they would have a confrontation. When I thought about it everything made sense. K. Michelle and Rasheeda reportedly got into an altercation which led to a fist fight on the reunion. Rumors floated that Rasheeda was knocked out but she later posted on twitter 'I'm gone make this crystal clear!! Ain't naaaaa bitch touch me point blank period! Mto source is a muthaf*ckin lie! #thatisall..'

Rasheeda started talking about how immature K.Michelle was amongst other things during the taping. We all know that K.Michelle is not going to let someone just talk to her out the side of their neck so she busted back aiming at Rasheeda's family and failing rap career which is what made things escalate even more. Security eventually rushed to the set to break things up. I can totally see this happening seeing that K.Michelle has been very vocal about her dislike for Toya Wright lately. Toya Wright is the wife of Memphitz who reportedly beat K. Michelle while they were together.

It's only natural for Rasheeda to take up for her friend so I'm guessing that is where their problem stems from. Also it looks as if the men of the show will make an appearance also. From what I am hearing Benzino and Karlie Redd have broken up and things are NOT good between the two.

Here's to waiting to see what actually took place at the reunion... I can't wait, shit  is getting real!

Alicia Keys protege gives us a glimpse at what he has to offer with his new mixtape 'Suite 823'. Mateo offers us some great laidback nice tunes to vibe to. I have been hearing a few songs by this artist and he's definetly talented. I really love the duet he has with Stacy Barthe on the mixtape called 'Looking You Up'.

Mateo gives us nine great tracks we can listen to that will give you insight on his musical direction and artistry. Production contributions from Kerry "Krucial" Brothers and John Ehmann are made on Suite 823. Mateo says he decided to create Suite 823 to give his fans a journey into his life. Mateo goes on to say Suite 823 is a place he can reflect on love, his fans and future.

Evelyn Alexandra Lozada Johnson and Chad Johnson along with VH1 have unveiled some promo shots for their new reality show Ev & Ocho. I know that there are a lot of people who do not like them but I personally love their love. I think they really balance each other out and are cute together. I laugh on Twitter at their tweets to one another.

VH1 also revealed the official premiere date for the show which will be on September 3rd. Viewers get to take a peek into their life as they plan their dream wedding. Wedding planner Diane Valentine is along for the ride helping with the wedding cake and dress. I'm happy for the two because alot of people doubted them and they made this wedding happen against all odds.  Check out more shots below.

Welp! Eve is certainly NOT checking for Stevie J any longer which is definitely good. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes somewhere in their life. Whether you learn from your mistakes is what really makes the difference.  With all the stuff going on around Stevie J, I wouldn't want to be seen with him either. Geez! 

Singer Nicki Minaj released her new video earlier this week for her single 'Pound The Alarm'. The singer rapper took things to Trinidad on the visuals for the pop-friendly track. The video reminds me of Alicia Keys video for 'Put It In A Love Song' which featured Beyonce that never got to see daylight.

I can only respect Nicki's hustle. It is clear that she used her latest album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' as a bridge to crossover her audience and gain a bigger fan base.

I haven't had the chance to watch the latest episode of VH1s Love & Kiddy Bop Hip Hop but I hear it was a hot mess. Like I stated once before, singer K.Michelle may have a good voice but her nasty attitude will cause her to only be known as a reality chick.

On another note, I have nothing to say about Mimi. I understand that Stevie J is the father of her child but the fact that she is trying to save her relationship with him really upsets me. What is Mimi teaching the young ladies that tune in each week to support her?

Kelly Rowland was spotted last night in NYC at the launch of her very own watch with the TW Steel Company. Kelly was joined by her friends and supporters as the revealed the two watches; one blue and one pink.

Kelly looked fab rocking her afro and red dress at the Standard Hotel. Other attendees included Rocsi Diaz, Jessica White, Tika Sumpter, and Adrienne Bailon.

The watches retail for $1,295.

Justin Bieber releases his latest visual for "As Long As You Love Me" from his Believe album.  The Anthony Mandler directed video was very nice. I'm starting to like Justin visual concepts he comes up with for his music. I think one of the things that make a song a great one is an great visual. Justin shows just how far he would go to win his girl's heart and love. Including going up against a battle that he could very well lose, her father! I won't tell you the outcome watch for yourself

B-rocka herself teases us with some shots from her Chris Brown assisted Put It Down video. I am really excited about seeing this video I am loving the song. I'm mostly excited to see what the dancing going to be hitting on cause I haven't seen Brandy REALLY dance in a minute. The choreography was done by Beyonce's head choreographer Frank Gaston so I know it's gone be right. The video was directed by Hype Williams so it should be a movie.

I think so far for the video Brandy is on the right track. She got the right people to showcase everything that needs to be shown in the video. Now as far as the promotion for the song AND album tisk tisk tisk. I need Brandy to get her ass on the stage at more big shows and promote dammit. There is no reason why she shouldn't of found somewhere in the BET awards to promote her new music. I mean I enjoyed the tribute but you gotta get your project together also.

Brandy recently said in an interview that the video drops in 2 weeks or less. She went on to say that doing the It All Belongs To Me thing with Monica really set her behind. Brandy also revealed NOW that she is again open to touring with Monica. I just need Brandy to make up her mind on what it is she wants to do. First y'all was touring, then your not now your open to it again. Girl! Also stop doing everything for everybody else and get your project right because if she flops nobody is going to help her. Now it might just be me but I could have sworn Miguel already made a video for Adorn. Turns out that one was not the official video for the single. I guess Miguel has money to slang around like that making unofficial videos and shit. Singer Miguel recently premiered his official video for Adorn from his Kaleidoscope Dream: Water Preview released on Itunes yesterday.

Miguel has another installment of this preview coming September 11 which will be the Air Preview. Then on October 2 the official album of all installments will be released. The video was simple but nice, it looks as if it took place in an old hospital or something. Him being in the water was sexy though and I personally want to thank him for wearing the tight pants by the car. That sample was everything! Enjoy!

 

Singer/Actress Teyana Taylor decided that she wanted to pay homage to one her influences Janet Jackson. Teyana recreated the above picture of Janet's 1993 Rolling Stone Cover which was also used for her album Janet. I see nothing wrong with paying homage and recreating a masterpiece IF you do it correctly and tastefully.

I think Teyana did a good job! Besides the makeup I really don't like when Teyana wears all that makeup but other than that she did great. She definitely has the body for it and did excellent. I believe this is another way of Teyana showing that she is becoming a woman. I say Good Job TT! Also the photo was shot by actor Lance Gross. I wonder if he saw them titties.

Keyshia Cole is easily becoming one of my favorites in this music industry. She just seems to know how to promote and do things correctly. I love how she maneuvers rather quietly in the sense of recording and shooting videos and then BOOM she's back. Keyshia takes us behind the scenes of her latest video "Enough Of No Love" from her Woman 2 Woman album. Directed by Benny Boom we get to see Keyshia get crazy and upset at Wayne for nothing.

Jay is such a business man! Just another many accomplishments to add to his roster of greatness. Last Week we got the info on Jay joining Duracell with a commercial about the power pad. Now this week we hear about his newest venture in executive producing NBA 2013 game. Jay will oversee the sound tracking of the newest 2k sports game.

This is a smart move because in everything that he does he always plugs his music. In the latest trailer for the game you can hear his single "Public Announcement" from his black album playing in the background. He also  managed to get his name to appear on the cover for the game which is being release 10.2.12.

Ludacris releases the visual for his new single "Jingalin" and it was a smash. Da Internz produced song was accompanied by a massive pool party visual with pillow fights and all. Appearances was made by Neyo and Da Internz and probably some more people but it was moving so fast. This is my newest favorite song to get drunk and ratchet to in the club.

Also in this scene where Ludacris was talking to the cops he looked tired as hell. The man has been getting it in LITERALLY I can't hate. Filming Movies, Making a new album and opening a new restaurant in the Atlanta Airport and god knows what else. Grind on sir!

A New Day, A New Rihanna Album. I Stan DOWN for Rihanna but I can honestly say I'm NOT ready for a new Rihanna Album. Go away for a while experience life, do somethings and then come back and tell us about it. Rihanna is already hard at work on her 8th Studio Album and Producers David Guetta and Sean Garrett are also. Like any other interview and artist he works with Sean is the first one to open his mouth and HAS to talk about it.

He says  “I was in the studio with David doing some stuff for Rihanna recently” adding: “[Guetta] finds inspiration in the things I don’t like, and I get excited by the things he doesn’t like. He wants to be more urban and I want to be more international, so we push each other”.


 I respect Sean for broadening his horizons on the musical scene but SHUT UP! Stop telling all the details about who your working with, what your working on and how it sounds. Sean Garrett has been working with Rihanna since Rated R and have you heard any of their songs yet? Wanna know why cause they NEVER make the final tracklisting. Then he looks crazy in the end because he talks all this smack and we never hear it. That's why Beyonce puts him under a GAG order when he works with her. He's doing the same thing with Brandy releasing names of songs and crap. Sir, just work and pray that your work makes the album this time and then let us judge, Guetta sir I am over you by now. As for Rihanna, mam take a break!

It's a shame that Kim K had to tell Khloe that she needs to take her man to the dentist. Sunday night on KUWTK Kim tells Khloe that Lamar breath stinks and swears on it. She says that every time Lamar hugged her she held her breath. DAMN! Khloe already knew it but never said anything also so they made that trip to the dentist to get it all done. Lamar Odom was at the dentist office for 7 hours getting work done.

I'm just trying to figure out how Khloe didn't notice that her man breath was kicking I mean you kissing him everyday. But then again when you get used to a certain smell you become immune to it. Everyone knows that Lamar LOVES candy and it showed in his heavenly decayed tooth he had along with the pain. This has to be some pretty embarrassing shit  to go through on national TV.
