• Singer Frank Ocean kicked off his 'Channel Orange' tour over the weekend in Seattle after a very successful week. The singer's debut album is set to debut at #2 on the Billboard charts despite only being released digitally this past week.

I just find it amazing that a newcomer can release an album and publicly admit he's bisexual and still slay the record sales of half of these 'tough' artist (i.e. Chris Brown).

Check out a few of the performances below. On another note, my birthday is next Sunday so if you guys would like to 'bless' me with tickets to Frank's show that night in Atlanta that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Are music icons Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle headed to the American Idol judges panel? It is no secret that host Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their departure from the show this week after just a few years. Aretha wasted no time wiping the grease from her fingers and responding to an email from CNN when asked how she would feel about joining the judges panel of the once hit show to which she said that she would love to be a judge on the panel after being a longtime fan.

Aretha would not be coming by herself after adding that she would bring singer Patti LaBelle along as her sidekick. I would honestly prefer Patti over Aretha any day because she would definitely bring the personality and the 'reads'.

It would be interesting if the producers of the show gave us actual 'idols' on the show other than music execs and youngsters.

    Would you tune in? [Source]

  • I'm still not completely sold on girl group The Yes Ma'ams, however I might give them a try after their latest release. The ladies released their viral video for the track 'What Girls Are Made Of' over the weekend. The ladies served every bit of vintage tease and choreography in the short clip.

My problem with the group is that they need to stop trying to win the 'gays' over when they are already in your corner. Expand your brand! 'What Girls Are Made Of' would completely slay the radio if they threw a rapper on it.

Nonetheless, are you buying what the trio are trying to sell?

  • Blah. Blah. I know I am late with posting the latest gem from rapper Azealia Banks. The rapper released her latest mix tape this week called 'Fantasea' which has received from great reviews. One thing that I can say about Azealia's work is that it is great to workout listening to.

Will she see the success of her female counterparts?

  • Tyler Perry definitely won me over last season with his TBS series 'For Better or Worse'. The show is a spinoff of his hit movie 'Why Did I Get Married' with characters Marcus and Angela playing out their marriage woes. From the acting to the set designs, the show is definitely a winner.

Don't forget to tune in next week when Bobbi Kristina (Whitney's daughter) makes her acting debut.

Catch the premiere of Season 2 below.

  • So Mimi finally grew some balls? Stevie J's baby-mama is apparently fed up with his infidelity and has decided to pack up his items and send him to the curb. I'm sure he will be back within the next two episodes tho.

I honestly cannot understand some of the scenarios. What was the point of the meeting between Erica and Joseline? Most importantly, how did they get each others numbers to even set up such an encounter? Unbelievable and scripted.

Nonetheless, why don't they make Ariane an official part of the cast because she gets more airtime than Rasheeda?

  • Everyone jumped for joy a few weeks ago when Beyonce's father and Destiny's Child group manager Matthew Knowles revealed in an interview that there would be two new Destiny's Child albums released this Fall. Who wouldn't want a new album from the biggest girl group of all-time after six years? With hits such as 'Bootylicious' and 'Soldier' we all could use another anthem to get us poppin'.

Don't get too excited. Below are three reasons why you shouldn't get excited about the new album.

    • The ladies of Destiny's Child will more than likely not even speak nor promote the album. People are tweeting them constantly everyday asking about the album and they all ignore it. Did they even know the albums would be released this year? The albums will contain old DC3 tracks with a few unreleased songs. The label pulled the same stunt with Kelly Rowland by releasing that 'Best Of Kelly Rowland' compilation last year that she never spoke of. Remember, the other two ladies had already given the label three solo albums and Kelly had only did two so I assume that compilation made up for the third one.
    • The only reason the albums are getting released is because the girls obviously owed the label two more albums. Did you notice that they were never removed from the labels website six years after they disbanded? Why would a group that is no longer together still be blasted over a record label's website? I'm sure that these two albums will fulfill their label obligations and contracts.
    • The ladies are all working on solo projects and will definitely not have time to focus on the group. I'm sure the ladies don't want any cross interference with their personal projects.
In all honesty, this is just a result of Daddy Knowles seeking some financial gain being that he doesn't manage any of the ladies as solo artist anymore. I'm not buying it.

  • Reality star and actress Nene Leakes took to Twitter this morning to kill the rumors that she was involved in a physical altercation with castmate Kandi while taping the fifth season of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta. Reports surfaced earlier this week that Nene struck a member of the production team and would possibly be facing termination from the show.

    So what really happened? Girl.

  • I guess reality star Phaedra Parks said she isn't too saved that she can't rock an ole nasty swimsuit. The RHOA star posed in a thong while filming for the fifth season of the hit Bravo television show. The crew are currently on their annual trip for the season in an unspecified location even though Kandi tweeted that they were out of the country.

Will you be purchasing Phaedra's 'Donkey Booty' workout tape when it drops?

  • Is there some underlying drama or did Tami Roman decide to really distance herself from negative people? Apparently the reality star decided not to attend the wedding of her VH1 co-star Evelyn Lozada which took place in St.Marteen on Independence Day.

In a recent interview, Shaunie did say that Tami was invited but decided not to attend. I doubt it was the 'location' that bothered Tami like Shaunie tried to lie and say.

If Tami did distance herself from the crew I may actually get on her team again.

  • Ch. The song is actually cute for the Latino crowd. VH1 Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta star Joseline Hernandez and finally provided us with some music. The trick released a new track titled 'Bailar' which means to dance in Spanish.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she blew up in the Latino industry. The track is nice.

  • Singer Elle Varner took to her Twitter account to reveal the album cover for her debut album 'Perfectly Imperfect'. I have been highly anticipating this album since the beginning of the year and will definitely be purchasing a few copies. The album is preceded with singles 'Only Wanna Give It To You' and 'Refill' which has hit the Top 10 on Billboard's Urban charts.

Perfectly Imperfect hits stores on August 8th!

  • Did you miss the chaos last night on VH1s Love & Hip-Hop ATL? The ish hit the fan when Scrappy confronted Stevie J about calling his baby-mama Erica a b*tch. The scene was definitely stage because there is no way that Scrappy would have known Stevie J and Joseline were having dinner at that restaurant.

It's okay that the show is scripted but can they do a better job with setting up scenes and scenarios.

  • Singer Frank Ocean has been the hot topic on everyone's tongue this past week ahead of the release of his debut album 'Channel Orange'. The singer/songwriter took to Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon last night to perform his track 'Bad Religion' which is on his new album.

Frank also let his fans in for a surprise when he announced that his album would hit iTunes at midnight last night. The physical copy of the album hits stores next Tuesday.

  • Tameka Raymond took to her Facebook account to update everyone about her son Kyle who was injured severely over the weekend when he was struck by a jet ski at Lake Lanier.

    Tameka posted:

“Kyle, You are strong.. You'll be saved I know it. I love you my baby. I need all #Prayers for my son! thanks you everybody!” Tameka wrote on her Facebook page.

Tameka also spoke to RadarOnline and said that her son's condition is 'BAD'. He was pronounced brain dead yesterday.

  • What's on the new MJB Summer tour? Forget 'Crispy Chicken', singer D'Angelo has been tapped to tour with the Queen of R&B this Summer. Mary J. Blige announced during her set at the Essence Music Festival that she will co-headline twenty concert shows with the 'Untitled' singer in August.

Mary J. Blige obviously isn't stupid because she knows D'Angelo will definitely rake in the ticket sales. My only thing is that I hope he pays his taxes unlike some of these other artist.

Will you be attending? Official dates haven't been announced.

  • Continuing with her promotional appearances for the Bacardi brand, singer Kelly Rowland took to Berlin for a cocktail event for the release of the 'Summer Dreaming' track she recorded for their ad campaign.

Kelly performed the track in addition to posing with fans for pictures.

  • I guess reality star turned actress Nene Leakes IS very rich which would explain why she continues to bail her son Bryson out of jail. You may recall that Bryson was arrested twice in the past for drug possession and for stealing razors from Wal-Mart.

The oldest son of Nene was arrested on June 25th for driving on a suspended license and then again on July 5th for probation violation. I guess season 5 of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta will have a 'BANG' like Nene tweeted.

  • Singer Marsha Ambrosius used the perfect platform to debut her new single. The singer debuted 'Friends & Lovers' over the weekend in New Orleans during the 2012 Essence Music Festival. I honestly cannot make a judgment from the performance so I will wait for the official track.

Marsha's new album will hit stores this November.

Is it me or is Marsha picking up a few of those pounds that she lost? She still looks great.

  • Not another show centered around women. TVOne has decided to tap into reality television once again by uniting a few women from the R&B genre. Faith Evans, Keke Wyatt, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and Nicci Gilbert will all be hitting out television screens this summer in a new series titled 'R&B Divas'. I honestly don't know anyone on the cast except for Faith Evans.

The show will focus on the ladies trying to break back into the industry after having to deal with the struggles that they have been faced with. Why didn't they get Blu Cantrell or somebody on the show?

    Ugh. Watch the promo below.
