It never fails. Reality stars sign on to gain a little exposure and the moment they are truly "exposed" they don't like it anymore.
"I've just been praying with Kelly because her heart is broken over what she see's of herself [on the show]," says Kelly's co-star Dawn Robinson. "When you show a bunch of stuff, and you have all of this footage, and then they just break it down to certain parts, and then they omit certain things that you did say, but they don't put that part in there because they want you to look a certain way. So this is why I was telling her, 'Kelly, whatever we do, don't react to people in a angry way because they are going to film that, and that's what they are going to show. They want to show us fighting against each other, they want to show anger, the angry Black woman, and you're so much better than that."
I'm not buying it, sorry. Regardless of whether or not it was edited a certain way she still acted disrespectfully. For those out of the loop, Kelly Price has been treating her fellow cast members like peasants on TVOne's R&B Divas this season and being a total "diva". It's sad to see her portray herself in such a negative light when she have spent years building and securing her brand. Maybe if she showed this much attitude back in the day Diddy would have actually put her in more videos. No shade.
Kelly took to BET's Sunday Best last night to do damage control with a performance.

I knew it would only be a matter of time, or seasons, before the real friendships on VH1's Basketball Wives were tested. It looks like Tami Roman has just about had it out with everyone and is not letting her clique Evelyn Lozada and Shaunie O'Neal miss the heat either.
It is no secret that Shaunie O'Neal has been an instigator these last few seasons however she is not trying to hide it this go around. From mocking Tami Roman to downright doggin' her, Shaunie is setting herself up to be a test dummy in the "Tami Roman School of Martial Whoop-Ass".
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how well Stephon Marbury's wife Tasha fits into the cast. From the looks of it, she is just as immature as Shaunie.
Am I the only one trying to figure out how Suzie remains on the cast but not the other ladies that got the ex? -
Chris Brown was off to a good start when he first released "Fine China" a few months ago. The lead single from his sixth studio album showcased the growth and vocal maturity that I have wanted to witness from Brown. It seems that the singer may have taken two steps back with his new single "Love More" which features rapper Nicki Minaj. Chris originally debuted the track at the 2013 BET Awards while only releasing a snippet of the track post his performance. When will artist realize that throwing a rapper on your track does not guarantee a hit? What are your thoughts?

I'm sure that I don't speak for myself when I say that I'm glad Centric TV ditched loud-mouth Tamar Braxton as the host of their Culture List series. The network tapped the lovely and much classier Letoya Luckett as the host of the second season of the lifestyle series. The second season of the show premieres tonight. Letoya Luckett is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to her second solo studio album Lady Love. I've been anticipating new music from Letoya but this wait is definitely bothering me.The Culture List debuted last year and showcases the latest in fashion, trends, and music. The show would be a bigger hit if it aired on BET versus its sister station. Will you be tuning in?

“But watch who you bring home, they see a black man with a white woman, at the top floor they gone come kill King Kong,” raps a laser focused Kanye West on his new song Black Skinhead.I read it. I heard it. More than a few people thought women, mothers would convict, now acquitted murderer, George Zimmerman. They did not think race mattered. It does. Don’t forget the dichotomy of the helpless White woman and the menacing Black predator. In 2008, Lebron James posed mouth agape and beastly in stance, one arm around an off-kilter Gisele Bundchen. Vogue used the racially conscious picture to drum up publicity. America’s tongue wags for racism like a b-tch in heat. We love to use American slavery and racism for Hollywood dollars and media coverage, yet claim we live in a post-racial society or that we as Black people always play the race card. We know how much media and advertisement plays a part in selling us lipstick, blush, hair color, and Nair, but after Trayvon Martin’s case we ignore how we are also sold racism and White privilege.Unfortunately and fortunately, my first experience of the fear White America has about me, a Black boy, dating a White girl was a lesson from my parents. I dated a White girl named Lauren; my mother’s message to me was “don’t be alone with that White girl, ever.” She feared for me. For she knew what Adrienne Kennedy wrote in her essay Grendel and Grendel’s Mother “Ever since I’d been an undergraduate at Ohio State there were few white women that I didn’t dislike. White women, I felt since the days of American slavery were instigators of racial cruelties and evil.”Kennedy an esteemed Obie Award winning playwright for the 1964 play Funnyhouse of a Negro, and the 1996 June and Jean in Concert and Sleep Deprivation Chamber. She rights in the aforementioned essay “now both my sons were with white women. I’d searched for a way to rid myself of the conflicting torment I felt at seeing my sons with these women. I tried to write about this torment in my essay Letter to Flowers, then I started a murder novel in which both women were found dead in a garden in Virginia.” Black women know their sons as victims of White women. While, White women have been taught Black men prey upon them. Have we forgotten how quickly we believed Susan Smith, Ashley Todd, and Boonie Sweeten when they claimed Black men harmed them physically or kidnapped them and their kids? In all these instances, it took months for the truth to come out. When women claim to be victims of crimes we tend to take them at face value; however, there is something historically present at work when White women continuously play on America’s fear of the Black man to frame them.In the instructions given to an all female-predominately White jury, the judge wrote:however, to justify the use of deadly force, the appearance of danger must have been so real that a reasonably cautious and prudent person under the same circumstances would have believed that the danger could be avoided only through the use of that force.
The judge was asking these White women, who have been conditioned to fear Black men and Black youth, to essentially convict themselves, their “reasonably cautious and prudent” self. -
Don't you just love it when you discover a new artist? Meet Dawin, a Brooklyn singer/songwriter/producer who released a hot new EP titled Via Bedroom a few months back. I never really listen to music that is tweeted to me however I decided to give him a chance and I must say that I am impressed.Dawin serves the perfect mixture of pop and R&B via his work. My favorite track would have to be "Games You Play".Check out the EP below. Expect to hear a lot more from Dawin soon. He recently produced Jersey Shore's Vinny Guadagnino new track "No Versace" which dropped this week.

See Jane Masturbate; cum Jane, cum.July 2nd, BET aired another superb Mara Brock Akil creation, Being Mary Jane. The original made for television movie features Gabrielle Union as protagonist Mary Jane. The raw illustration of a Black woman navigating singlehood caught my eye, most, when in her office, Mary Jane uses her vibrator to self-pleasure. Upon seeing this carnal act, something inside of me smiled. It is not often that Black women are the sexual action rather than the reaction. Historically, woman especially those of color are objectified sexually for the satisfaction of men. Yes, there are images of women like Josephine Baker and Nicki Minaj who seem to have total control of their sexuality, using the racist notion of Black hyper sexuality to entice mainstream audiences to open their wallets. However, consumption is consumption. However, now, Mary Jane comes along and masturbates on our television screens. It is a bold socio-political move. I am sure masturbating is no secret among Black women in their social circles, but to be broadcast on national television ups the ante. Mary Jane was not just being pleasured for man; there was no male gaze upon her nor did she use a penis for pleasure. Patriarchal societies have this debilitating notion (for sexual minorities) that there is no pleasure without that of the male penis or heterosexual male approval. As a gay Black man, I often get the question how do two men get pleasure from one another. This question only exist, because ‘gay’ is not heterosexual-male approved.Anecdote ahead.Likewise, I was at a “coffee table talk” where the host thought it would be productive to have Lesbian-omics: a lesson in being a Black Lesbian for gay Black men. Side note: its disgraceful and disparaging how we expect the minority and the oppressed to educate the dominant culture. Do your research and learn on your own. I was disgusted at how they asked one Black lesbian to speak for a whole community, essentially putting her on the auction block to prod and poke at her sexuality. These gay men asked, “How do you get pleasure without a penis?” This question only exists because we, as a society, believe in the myth that there is no pleasure without the penis.Reveling in the pleasure that was Mary Jane’s masturbation, I decided to have a discussion with two of my good girl friends I met at Hampton University during undergrad, Shawnon Corprew (writer for Lambda Gazette) and Rochelle Sample (filmmaker).Noose: Hello, is everyone here?
Shawnon Corprew: I’m here.
Noose: I've probably mentioned the story to both of you before. I was at a coffee table discussion and the topic for the week was Lesbian-omics
SC: Oh yeah, I remember that.Noose: I was appalled when all these gay Black men were asking the lesbian (that I guess was speaking for all) “how do you all get off without a penis?” I thought it was as ignorant as the "how do two guys have sex? Its two penises." Shawnon as a lesbian have you had to deal with this before?SC: I haven't had any gay guys ask about my sex life. It's mostly straight men.
Noose: How do you address those men?
SC: It's interesting, when I became curious, I had these misconceptions about lesbian women...the whole stud/femme norm and such and I wondered why a lot of girls went for masculine women instead of just a man. Ignorant I know. Since then I have seen the light.
Noose: So is the penis needed?
SC: You mean the real thing or a dildo...or both?
RS: Well I definitely have had that thought myself about if u get a masculine woman why not just get a man, we live in a world that operates off of stereotypes. Is the penis needed that is a loaded question.
Noose: Yes, the actual penis.
SC: Not at all.
RS:When it comes to sex with women, people think nothing is as adequate as the penis, which is totally incorrect. A lot of times these thoughts are expressed by lesbian themselves, well the new ones. However, most of the time sex is not about penetration; it is not about a penis and some balls.Noose: So not using a penis is frowned upon initially, in your experience with lesbian women of color? Is that because we are use to sex as a ploy of male domination? If such and such is not being acted upon by a man, than that sexual experience holds no value? It is like your climax is not shit if its not produced by a man.SC: The thing is they believe we have to share the same sexual benefits as heterosexual couples when in fact I cum just like Susie Homemaker. However, a man did not make me cum so my orgasm is not legit.RS: There is also another end of the spectrum. I have friends that say their partners get upset if they ask for penetration by dildo. The partner feels as though their lover is really requesting a man. We’ve started to see penetration as this uniquely male exercise, but it is not the case. As Lesbian woman we have to move away from this notion that equates dildo to man. But, going back to your point about male domination. I definitely think it has something to do with the way we view sex.
SC: There are fingers and other forms of pleasure. For me personally, I like the variety. Everyone is not the same though.
RS: A lot of sexual acts are equated with gender. For the longest time, men eating pussy was taboo. Men would not admit it. Eating vagina involves a man either getting on his knees or lowering his body position in relation to the woman. That represents submission.
Noose: Not only gender, but sexual identity. In high school, if a dude talked about penetrating a girl in the butt, people would call him gay. If I talk to people my age now, heterosexual men and women are really doing it. Hell, I know straight guys that have gotten their buttholes licked.
RS: Oh, yes, talk about it.
SC: True.
RS: These sexual practices that homosexuals have been practicing for some time now only become sexually acceptable when heterosexual men deem it. We can look to religion to see why we believe the penis is the holy grail of sex and why heterosexual male-approval is deemed necessary.
Noose: Tell me about it.RS: I grew up listening to plenty of sermons about men being the sower and women the reaped.SC: Ugh, patriarchy.RS: Listen to what they are telling us: because the penis goes in my hole that makes me the lesser.Noose: You have now become a product of his penetration instead of a partner.RS: Religion gives praise to the penis at the expense of objectifying the female body.Noose: So religion demotes you to a reaction. As writers, we all know we are praised when characters create action rather than having action done to them i.e. passive voice vs. active voice.RS: But my vagina has a voice too.Noose: That statement just blew my mind.
RS: The whole Old Testament centers around a narrative that the vagina is evil. All humanity got screwed cause of Eve and her vagina, poor Adam and his good ole penis. Ever since Eve messed up things for humanity women have had to pay the price by being dominated by the penis. There a number of other stories like Samson and Dahlia where the woman is the downfall of a man.SC: Why is it that when the woman is doing the action she is looked down upon?RS: Because, we are the "reaped.” we are the wombs just waiting for the glorious Mandingo to bless us by choosing us to bare his seed. I also think of the scripture “he who findeth a good woman” what if I want to do the finding?Noose: So, how was masturbation presented to you two as young Black women?SC: Never had that talk with the parents. Female masturbation seems taboo.RS: Masturbation, I feel is extremely taboo when it comes to women. It's always like “oh that is a phase boys go through.” It comes off as though we as Black women should not know our bodies.
SC: Yes, Rochelle. What if I want to be by my damn self? Interestingly enough, I did not start masturbating until after my first college relationship. I do not hear about many black women, openly, talking about masturbation.
RS: Even in 2013, the black woman is still sexual oppressed. I do not believe that we have been given the chance to fully explore our own womanhood, because we are still living in the dark shadows of the penis. For black straight women that is problematic, but for the Black lesbian that means that their love does not exist at all.Follow the author of this article @noose_lme -
"No new host, no new host, no new host, no, no, no."
BET has finally confirmed after weeks of speculation that their new 106 & Park host won't return to the hit countdown show. Paigon, Miss Mykie, and Shorty Da Prince lasted a little over a year as host on the show after Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz exited back in 2011.
"106 & Park is undergoing some exciting changes. Angela Simmons will continue to guest host until the end of the Summer. Bow Wow aka "Mr.106 & Park" will continue as lead host; Miss Mykie, Paigon, and Shorty Da Prince will no longer remain on the show. BET network is happy to have worked with these bright, young stars and will continue to support them and their upcoming endeavors," says the network.
No other details were offered however hiring three new faces at once was a bad decision from the start. Can they just bring AJ and Free back?

It looks like everyone is trying to get a piece of the reality television fame. R&B group SWV announced their new WETV reality show "SWV - Sisters With Voices" which will premiere this Fall. The new series will showcase the 90s girl group on their quest to regain their spot in the music industry.
"It's official everyone! We are coming to @WEtv this Fall! We promise you this is great TV for everyone! Thank you for your love and your support," they tweeted.
The ladies of SWV have sold over three million albums worldwide. Coko, Taj, and Lelee reunited in 2011 for their album I Missed Us.
I'm rooting for the trio being that they are the only R&B girl group from the 90s that have been successful at a possible comeback.
WEtv has ordered six one-hour episodes of the series.

I thought Willow Smith proclaimed that she was finished with making music? Maybe she was only done with the political side of the industry because the young titan just released a music video for a new track titled "Summer Fling"."The bright sun in the blue water. We fight less and love harder. You tell me that I'm the one. I tell you it's just for fun," she sings. The song is cute however I'm not understanding why her portrayed "friends" in the clip look twice her age. She's only 12.I'm sure we can all agree that Willow is modeling her musical career after her idol Rihanna. No word on if Willow plans on releasing an album or if this new track was only a side project.

Singer Janelle Monae decided to switch things up a bit in her new video for "Dance Apocalypse" which she released today. Janelle ditched her usual 'do and outfit for something more appealing. Janelle channeled Andre 3000's "Hey Ya!" in the video which serves as the official second single from her new album The Electric Lady.I must admit that Janelle's team have been very organized with the handling of her new project. From her BET Awards performance to her Covergirl endorsement, things are really shaping up for the young singer. The Electric Lady hits stores on September 10th.

Queen Latifah is back! As previously reported, the entertainment industry mogul will return this Fall with her brand new talk show The Queen Latifah Show."I can't wait for you to see it. It's about laughing and having a good time," she says. This isn't the first time that the Queen has graced daytime television. Latifah had a talk show in 1999 but it was cancelled after two seasons due to low ratings. I'm not too sure about this show but I am willing to give her another try.Singer Lenny Kravitz's design team was tapped to design the set for the new show. Read here.

Kelly Rowland's ex-fiancee Roy Williams is doing everything in his power to make us aware that he isn't the one that she is referring to in her new single "Dirty Laundry". The blogsphere was all abuzz a month ago when Kelly dropped the single where she talked about being abused by a former lover."I'm a Christian. I had a foundation for low income single parent mothers. For somebody to think that with a foundation for low income single parent mothers that I would put my hands on a woman is freaking crazy," he says. "I wish her well. At one time I was in love and engaged with her but that time is gone now. I wish her nothing but all of the success."Roy kept it classy until he discussed writing a tell-all book."I was the only public relationship that she had so people think it's me. Oh my God, if I were to write a book my book would be juicy."

Singer Fantasia released the video for her current single "Without Me" today. The video, which premiered via BET's 106 & Park, features Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott. Fantasia surprisingly gave us a little choreography in the visuals which I would say is her best one to date. Can Kelly Rowland get any sexier? Damn. Missy Elliott graced the video however she was not included in any of the other clips which included the other two ladies.

Michelle Williams isn't playing this time around with the promotion for her new single. Michelle revealed the official lyric video today for her current single "If We Had Your Eyes" which was produced by Harmony. I absolutely love the quality of this project.Nonetheless, join Michelle tonight on CBS for her 2013 BET Awards recap alongside Kevin Frazier for OMG Insider."If We Had Your Eyes" is available via iTunes here.

The shade was thick during last night's 2013 BET Awards after singer Ne-Yo ditched his fiancee Monyetta Shaw for singer RaVaughn. The singer took to his official Instagram account on Saturday to announce his split from his fiancee who is also the mother of his two kids.
"The fate has decided to split our romantic paths. Know that I will always love you. Forever your partner. Forever my friend. Forever my miracle," he says.
It comes as no surprise that the two have called it quits being that their relationship has been plagued with rumors and negativity in the media since it began. I honestly hope that she didn't find out about the split like we all did.
I'm not understanding why Ne-Yo took to Instagram to announce his split from Monyetta when the two have been very private about their relationship from the start.
On another another, check out Ne-Yo on the red carpet last night with "Bestfriend" singer RaVaughn. Ravaughn is also signed with the singers label. Is this his new leading lady?

BET definitely stepped their production up a notch during the 2013 BET Awards. Ciara, Robin Thicke, and Charlie Wilson are just a few of my favorite performances from last night. The event was held last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
I would definitely give Charlie Wilson best vocal performance of the night. Despite being a senior citizen and cancer survivor, the legend really tore the house down with his performance. Robin Thicke's performance was quite nice but didn't compare to what he gave on the Graham Norton Show.Check out the performances below. Who was you favorite?- Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell, T.I.- Kendrick Lamar ft. Erykah Badu- Janelle Monae ft. Erykah Badu- 2 Chainz ft. A$AP Rocky- Beenie Man and Elephant Man- Tamela Mann- J.Cole- Miguel- Mariah Carey ft. Miguel- R.Kelly- Charlie Wilson ft. India Arie, Jamie Foxx, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, & Justin Timberlake- Chris Brown
