Ch. Let me just say that I was the one that got this video circulating on Twitter last week when I stumbled across it. I thought that it was absolutely beautiful to see two black gay men getting married and having their family by their side to share their exciting moment. Leave it to our own community (black people) to turn a good situation into something bad.
The video went viral and the couple have received a lot of love and even more criticism because one of the grooms is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Nathanael, the groom that is the Alpha member, took to the Tom Joyner Morning Show to clear up rumors about the wedding.
'There was no affiliation with Kappa whatsoever,' says Nathanael. 'We go to work and we work our 9 to 5 just like the next man and pay our taxes just like the next man. We are looking to get the same respect of any individual in this world. We're not looking to be second class citizens in America.'
Nathanael went on to discuss the possibility of the another fraternity feeding the video to the media.
